We believe that there is a new tomorrow that exists today for people with Intellectual disabilities. According to the statistics provided by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, there are OVER 7,000 American citizens with intellectual disabilities that are on the DDSD ‘waiting list’ to receive services. Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) Community Homes have proven to be effective in providing long-term supports with emphases on individualized life experiences in a safe and home atmosphere while maximizing opportunities to assure quality training programs, ultimately promoting a Life Style that will be as independent as possible.

and Respect

Over the years society recognizes the need to provide a more ‘Home Like’ environment for persons that at one time were supported in an institutional type setting. When Individuals receive supports in a ‘real’ home setting, participating in a superlative community such as Moore, statistics show that they are less likely to be labeled or tarnished by the diagnosis and can become productive citizens regardless of their disability. The benefits of living and being a part of the community include the presence of cognitive, sensory and physical abilities which inspire and promote those competencies in people that require supports. Living in the Moore community offers a diversity of opportunities for socialization, recreation, shopping, medical center, educational programs and other edifying opportunities such as employment, culture, sports, clubs and civic groups.
